Pregnancy Termination

Blue Coral Women's Care is a licensed abortion clinic regulated by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA License #852). All termination of pregnancy care is performed in person by a licensed physician.

Options we provide

• Medication termination — an abortion-inducing medication regimen (Mifeprex or Methotrexate). Florida law requires that these medications be dispensed in person by a physician; they cannot be prescribed by telehealth or mailed.
• Surgical termination (D&C) — dilation and curettage, performed in our office.
• C-section surgical assistance — available on a per-case basis.

What Florida law requires

We want you to know these requirements before you call, so nothing comes as a surprise. They apply to every abortion clinic in Florida, not just ours.

• Two visits, at least 24 hours apart. A physician must inform you in person — in the same room — of the nature and risks of the procedure, the probable gestational age, and the medical risks of continuing the pregnancy, at least 24 hours before it is performed.
• An ultrasound is required to confirm gestational age. You will be offered the chance to view the images and hear them explained. You have the right to decline, and declining is documented on a form — the choice is entirely yours.
• Gestational age limit. Florida law prohibits termination after 6 weeks of gestation except in specific circumstances defined by statute, including certain medical emergencies, fatal fetal abnormality, and pregnancies resulting from rape, incest, or human trafficking (up to 15 weeks, with documentation). Gestational age is calculated from the first day of your last menstrual period — which means the limit arrives sooner than many people expect. Call as early as you can.
• If you are under 18, Florida law requires that a parent or legal guardian be notified by the physician and that they provide written, notarized consent along with government-issued identification. A judicial waiver process is available through the courts. Call us and we will explain how it works.
• Rh testing and Rho(D) immune globulin. We perform Rh blood typing and, where indicated, discuss and offer Rho(D) immune globulin.

What to expect at your visit

• A private consultation, medical history, physical examination, and required laboratory testing.
• A clinician available to you throughout the procedure and during recovery.
• Written aftercare instructions, including warning signs and a telephone number for medical emergencies. Someone from the clinic is reachable for post-procedure concerns 24 hours a day.
• A follow-up visit is offered, including a pregnancy test to confirm the pregnancy has ended.
• Contraception counseling, if you want it — we can start most methods at your follow-up visit. There is no pressure either way.

Privacy

Your visit and records are confidential and kept secure. Florida law requires clinics to submit monthly statistical reports to AHCA; those reports do not identify you and are exempt from Florida's public records law. Some other disclosures — such as parental notice for minors and mandatory reporting of suspected abuse or human trafficking — are required by law.
